The British Embassy, Hanoi, is looking for a Migration Co-ordination Officer to fill a newly vacant position

You should have:

· demonstrable experience of international migration issues
· good understanding of Vietnamese Government systems
· project management experience, including budget management
· flexibility, initiative, self-motivation and commitment
· ability to work to deadlines and deliver on-time results
· good organisational, teamwork and interpersonal skills
· fluency in English and Vietnamese (written and spoken)
· good interpretation/translation skills
· good IT skills (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)

Migration issues are a key priority for the UK in Vietnam. Working as part of a small team, you will be responsible for supporting the implementation of a Memorandum of Understanding between the British and Vietnamese Governments on Migration Issues. This will involve close co-operation with Vietnamese Government bodies (especially the Ministry of Public Security), UK Government bodies, UN bodies, other diplomatic missions in Hanoi, and NGOs. Previous experience working with the Ministry of Public Security will be an advantage. You will also oversee implementation of migration-related capacity-building assistance, including budget management. You will occasionally be called upon to undertake translation and interpretation for senior British Embassy staff.

Your initial contract will be for one year only, although there is a possibility of extension. Your starting salary at Grade LE II will be US$764 gross per month.

You should send your CV (in English) with details of your qualifications, relevant skills and experience to:
